What is your plan for being a pro?

Hi all,

This post brings us back to the mahjong discussion. I remember being asked this question by Adriel Pro during my first stream as a pro, and I’m still yet to find a clear answer. That doesn’t mean I don’t see the big picture, though.

There are plenty of things on my to-do list, and I’d like to share them with you here on this blog.

My todo list:

  • Build this website as the headquarters for everything around me. I’m putting in effort every day to make it richer. So far, I’m still on a streak of posting something every day. There are many components I plan to add:

    • My own tutorial for teaching the game, including the terminology (following the Saikouisen rulebook) and a step-by-step guide. At the very least, I want a script I can deliver consistently whenever I teach.

    • A calendar that shows my schedule and possibly allows appointments.

    • Blog series—for example, regular-day content vs. special-occasion content.

    • A way to display all my game logs here, including ARML play, MJS ranked play, and RC ranked play.

  • Beyond building the website, I’m also thinking of setting up a mahjong analysis playground on my computer. This might be tricky since my preferred development environment is Ubuntu, and I’ll need to figure out how to set it up on Windows.

    • Start by implementing Mortal offline.

    • Mahjong grinding: attend tournaments at least four times a year (once per season), play at an IRL club every week, and play at least two hanchans per day on MJS/RC/Tenhou.

    • Host tournaments, starting by helping Adriel Pro with the RC tournament hosting.

    • Practice speaking professionally in proper English terminology and work on commentating.

Wow, that does seem like a lot on my plate—but no worries. Just you wait; these things should become reality very soon.

Thank you for being here, and I’ll see you tomorrow (earlier this time—I need to sleep early, lol).

Discussion:

Tomorrow I will talk about a decision I made on the mjs ladder.

I would love to hear about your discussion here as well! Feel free to comment in the following comment section.

East 1 , Toimen red dragon pon -> north discard; 3s chi -> 4s discard.
